"These thing have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life." I John 5:13
Where you are going is more important than where you have been.

The Plan of Salvation
Do
you know where you are going when you die?
If
you found a verse that says that you can know you have eternal life in
heaven, and exactly what you have to do to get there, would you believe
it? Let me explain. You’ll have to decide on your own, anyway. The
Bible tells us in Romans 3:23 that we all have sinned. That means that we
have all done things wrong.
God
tells us in Romans 6:23 that the payment for sin is death. That’s
because sin destroys everything that it touches. The only thing that will
destroy sin is eternal death separated from God. Just as cancer is
destroyed in the body of a person who dies, so death destroys sin. To
get to heaven you must be perfect. There can be no sin allowed in heaven,
because then there would be death and sickness in heaven. That
leaves us in a hopelessly lost condition. There is absolutely nothing we
can do to get ourselves to heaven.
God
knew that we could never do anything to get ourselves to heaven, so He did
it all for us. He took our sins off of us onto Himself, and paid for them
by dying on the cross. All
He requires of us is that we trust His death payment as everything needed
to get us to heaven. When
you trust Christ as your Savior, you can know that you are going to
heaven. God says in I John 5:13: “These things have I written unto you
that believe on the name o the Son of God that ye may know that ye have
eternal life.” God says that you can know it. You don’t have to
“hope so” or guess, but you can know. You can be sure. You don’t
have to wish, you can be certain. And
we have it now. It says “have” eternal life. And
it is “eternal.” So it will last forever. You
can know it. You can have it right now, and you can never lose it.
Therefore, you can know that you are going to heaven.
All
you have to do is trust Jesus’ death payment on the cross. In other words,
believe that He is God , and that He did everything it takes to get you
to heaven when He died and came back from the dead. If you have never trusted Jesus
that way to get you to heaven, why not trust Him now? You can’t
make a mistake, because He is trustworthy.
